No, Animals should not be used as performers because it robs them of their natural freedom. We are using creatures that should be free and be able to live a natural life be used for our own entertainment. This is not living at all. It is proven that animals in the Circus live a depressing life of domination, confinement, and violence. We all see how some circus owners treat their animals that they are using for performance. Some animals are whipped and shocked just to preform tricks for our so called "amusement." Many animals in the circus experience horrendous living conditions.
Yes, I believe that animals should be used as circus performers, because the animals are protected. Not all circuses have animal cruelty. An article from theguardian.com had lots of research done with it that showed that not all circuses abuse animals for training. Bobby Roberts Super Circus for example, makes sure that their animals are treated well. For example, the author of the article in question went to see a performance of Great Britain's super Circus to find that the animals were treated well. When a trainer performed a trick with 5 Bengal Tigers, there was no whipping or chair brandishing, the trainer merely tapped on the table, and the tigers did the trick similar to a domestic cat doing a trick to get a reward. After the performance the author went to see the conditions of the animals and saw the audience petting the animals. The author asked a trainer if the animals were being abused in anyway to which the trainer replied, "if they were abused, wouldn't they be shying away from the people?" This gives us the side that animals are actually doing well in circuses and are being treated fairly.
I have surveyed many people and all of them said No for similar reasons. One said that the animals are not treated humanely and are lashed and abused and not taken care of properly. Another said that animals being used in circuses is cruel and inhumane. Another said that they get tortured and they are not in their natural habitat and are used for human entertainment that is unnecessary.
I believe that animals should not be used as circus performers unless it is clear that the animals are being treated well and there is no signs of abuse or neglect. Some circuses treated their animals performers well and fed them good food, take proper care of them and where they live, make sure that they get proper excersise and make sure that no one is abusing them. Other circuses don't care about the animal performers and only care about the wealth that they generate. This is immoral and inhumane.
Hey guys! Nick again! Welcome to my second blog! I am a great writer who specializes in writing mostly poetry. I love to read and write in my free time and my favorite subjects are science, literature and writing and I dislike math. I have many books that I would considered as my favorite. However the current book series I am on is The Lord of the Rings by j.r.r Tolkien. I am a huge fan of Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and Star Trek. I am a very empathetic and happy person.

Recommend a game, book, series, or music that you enjoy. Describe it's style and why you like it. Explain why the reader should watch/read/play it.
A T.V. series that I would have to recommend is the 2011 series, Grimm. Grimm is a T.V. show that was highly inspired by the Grimm brothers fairy tales. Red Riding Hood, Bluebeard, Pied Piper, all of those and more are featured in the series. The Reason why I like it is that it's style is sort of a mix between Law and Order and the show Once Upon a Time (if you haven't seen those I recommend that you go see them.) and gives us a sort of a mix of fiction and reality. There is lots of action and suspense in each episode and each episode adds in a new conflict or event such as new characters, character development, or even character death. It is a really good show and once you start watching it you will definitely get hooked on it.
To give you a background of who the Grimm brothers are as I mentioned them in the paragraph above, the Grimm brothers, Wilhelm and Jacob Grimm, were the authors of many of the fairy tales that we know of today, Rapunzel, Hansel and Gretel, Cinderella, Red Riding hood, all those fairy tales were made by the Grimm brothers. Sad, that so few people remember who they are, they are some of the most influential literary authors to this day. Their tales have spread into movies, plays, and shows all over the world.
The reader should watch it if they are into a mystery and action kind of T.V. genere. Most of the show takes place involving the Police and involves investigations, interrogations and even amusing characters and reactions. This is definitely a must watch for those who are into fantasy and crime shows. Let me tell you, this show will keep you on edge.

Review of Our Books
Spoilers ahead for Death of a Salesman, The Stranger, Follow the River, To Kill a Mockingbird, Romeo and Juliet, and The Great Divorce.
The books I read in my Literature class impacted my freshman year of high school. Through these books I either found myself either enjoying them, falling asleep to them, or getting mad at them. Each one was unique in it's own way and each one told a different story.
The First book we read was The Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller, was a play turned book that told the story of Willy Loman, a troubled salesman whose mental state was off and his family in shambles. Willy's mental illness bears great similarities to that of schizophrenia. I personally thought that the book was actually pretty good. It set the mood and setting right from the start and soon I found myself unable to put the book down. The interactions between the characters is what really made this book so special.
L’Étranger or as we in America call it, The Stranger, was a book written by Albert Camus. The Stranger dealt with the concept of existentialism and how our lives are no significance. The main character, Meursault, is an individual whose emotions seem to be very emotionless until the end of the book when he faces his death. I personally thought that this book moved a little bit too slow for my liking.
The Book Follow the River by incredible, inspiring, and very kind author James Alexander Thom is about a villager from the settlement of Draper's Meadow named Mary Ingles, who is kidnapped by Shawnee native Americans and how she makes her trek back to her settlement with (in my opinion anyways) crazy Irish woman Ghetel. I thought that this book was incredible. I got to actually meet James in person and he remembered mine and my classmates letters to him which he personally responded back to. His writing has inspired me and affected me to make use of dialect and figurative language. He is truly one of the most influential writers I have had the pleasure of meeting.
The Book To Kill a Mockingbird was a book written by Harper Lee. Mockingbird dealt with the concept of racism and racial equality. The main character, Scout, is a girl who is still young and lives with her father Atticus and her brother Jem. Scout has to learn about many things in this world that are unfair, including racism. This book was very eye opening for me. It made me realize how we as teens and kids view the world differently than what it truly is in reality. I actually cried after finishing the book it was so emotional and revealed to myself what I take for granted.
The classic play/show, Romeo and Juliet, is a world famous play written by the greatest playwright of all time, William Shakespeare. Romeo and Juliet takes place in Verona, Italy where the house of Montague, and the house of Capulet are at war with each other and peace is not an option. However, from this conflict sparks a forbidden love. The daughter of Lord Capulet, Juliet Capulet, and the son of Lord Montague, Romeo Montague, fall in love with each other. It is truly a romantic play with combat at many scenes to help keep the action going. I didn't enjoy it myself and I found myself getting bored by it.
The book The Great Divorce was written by the author who brought you The Chronicles of Narnia series, C.S. Lewis. The Great Divorce is set on a bus that takes a trip to Heaven so that ghosts may decide whether they want to stay in Hell, or go to Heaven. On the trip there, there are many conflicts (just like any road trip there is bound to be at least one argument) and each ghost has their own unique backstory. The book itself had a good plot and actual solid character development. However there were times where I wished that Lewis would take a leaf out of J.R.R Tolkien's "book" and at least add a tad bit more action to it. This book has a lot to deal with the concept of what the afterlife might look like and how many interpretations exist of it.
I highly recommend that you read the book, Follow the River by James Alexander Thom. I enjoyed this book because Thom was able to not keep us in the middle of an incredibly long exposition and he was able to make his characters actually seem that they were alive and reading the book with you. I highly recommend this book to any historical fiction readers out there. You will highly enjoy this book and the historical content is both interesting and accurate.

Does School Teach You the Skills that You Will Need Later in Life
Yes: yes, school does teach you the skills that you need later in life because life skills that you pick up in high school are applied later on in life. Here is a quote from the website debate.org that answers this question;
"School prepares you for the future because it teaches you how to become an everyday worker. Think of it this way, your boss doesn't want you slacking and not doing your work in a everyday environment. Well thats what school is an everyday environment where you complete assignments and whether you do them is up to you or not. However in a common work place if you don't do your work you end up fired, or in an almost same way you fail the class. Which if you think about it is almost like failing your job," (Debate.org).
This tells us that what school is subconsciously teaching us is actually life skills that can be applied to life. When your in school, you don't want to get a failing grade, so you work hard. Just like if you don't want to get fired from your job, you try your absolute best to be able to appease your boss and get work done to the best of your ability.
No: No, school doesn't teach you the skills that you will need later in life because it mostly depends on what job you are in. For example, if I wanted a job as a therapist, why would I need to know how to use the pythagorean theroum in real life? I don't because it doesn't pertain to my specific job. Here is a quote from debate.org in which a user lists the skills that he needed later in life that he didn't learn in school;

This individual lists quite a few skills that he needed in life that were not ever taught to him. Although some of these seem like the kind of thing that you would need to learn on your own. Funeral planning seems like a personal kind of thing to learn if you ask me.
I have surveyed quite a few people, and I got mostly yes. However each one had their own reasons as to why. One person said that yes, schools do teach you subjects that are necessary later in life because some schools have classes that teach students practical life skills. Another answer was that yes, schools does teach you skills you will need later in life, because school teaches you certain skills and some skills you will need to learn on your own. My final answer was that they thought that it depended on the school. Some schools don't teach certain things that are needed in life while some do.
My opinion: I believe that yes, schools do teach you skills that you will need later in life because they teach you life skills as well as academic skills. School teaches you time management, responsibility, communication skills, and being aware of how your physical and mental state is. These help tremendously in life, for example, if you are giving a presentation to your boss that is due in 2 weeks, what you would have procrastinated on in middle or high school, you now get started on right away. School helps us realize that time is limited, and we have a responsibility to ourselves, and our family. Working hard and earning what we work for is just part of the reward. There is no time for video games, or blowing off homework, you need to be ready for work just as you would need to be ready for school.

Should College Entrance Requirements Include Test Scores in Addition to Extracurricular Experience?
Yes: Yes, I believe that college entrance requirements should include test scores along with extracurricular experience because it helps colleges better understand why applicants want to apply to certain colleges. The extracurricular experience helps colleges also realize what lengths applicants will go to in order to get the job they want.
Test scores should also help by allowing colleges to see who the slackers are and who are the people who work hard. Test scores also help colleges realize what a students best is. If a student gets usually a D on tests and they get Bs because they worked really hard, that tells the administration "wow, this kid really wants to come here," allowing them to make the decision of whether or not to accept the applicant or not easier.
Extracurricular experience helps administration realize how much time out of their life the applicant has put into their future career. If an applicant who wants to be a therapist takes time out of their life to visit a company that focuses on therapy and how to treat it, that will look extremely well on the applicant and how badly he wants to be a therapist.
No: No, I believe that college entrance requirements should not include test scores in addition to extracurricular activities. The reason behind this is that if a student just happens to be a bad test taker and usually scores low grades, the administration will fail to see how much time and effort the student has put into grades. Students look like they don't try when it might be the opposite.
Extracurricular activity also affects a students application. If a student is caught up in lots of work that they don't have time to contribute to their future career, then the student looks like they don't even want to get into the college even if they might want to. This causes applicants to be seen as lazy and not hard-working which can affect them immensely.
Survey:
Many people believe that college entrance requirements should not include test scores and extracurricular experience. The main reason being that tests only measure who is good at taking them and doesn't correlate to how hard someone works to get into college and their are many smart people out in the world who don't have the ability to do extracurricular work and don't do well on tests and that should not hinder them from being accepted into a college. Others believe that it should include tests scores the main reason being that it shows that the students are interested into what they want to major in and that they want to do more outside of school in order to increase their chances.
My opinion: I believe that college entrance requirements should not include test scores and extracurricular experience. The reason being that if someone wants to get into college and their bad at taking tests, this will have a huge negative impact on their futures and can cause them to not get accepted into a college. If they have no time to go do something outside of school in order to help them major in a subject in the future, they might be seen as apathetic and not committed when it is actually the exact opposite.

Business Proposal
Dear Jeff Bezos,
You have most likely by now heard of the app I am currently designing for teens. My app will revolutionize the whole youth demographic and technology. Here is my proposal to you. You can buy the rights to my app for 500,000 dollars and enough money to continue developing apps for you. Here is the outline of what my app will do.
The app allows the mobile device the user is using to be able to measure their emotions through a programmed heart beat monitor that senses the users pulse and perspiration. It can then find the best interface for the user at just the right times depending on their emotional state. For example, if the user is feeling sad or lonely, the interface will pull up the most dialed phone number of the user's contacts and will suggest that they dial that number for the user to feel comforted. If the user is stressed, than the application will call either a family member, or will remind the user that procrastination will not help. this is extremely helpful in high school as procrastination can cause some teens to feel stressed.
If a teen is feeling relieved or satisfied, the app will allow the user to do something like play a game on their phone, or read a book. The best part about this app is that it can't be fooled. If a teenager is lying to their parents about if they have done their homework when they have not, the phone will turn on and declare that the student still has homework to do or a test to study for. This teaches the teen to be truthful and honest.
The app is also aware of time, if the teen wants to stay up late playing their phone, the app will shut down the phone and tell the student to go to sleep. This helps teens get the right amount of sleep and get ready for school.
As you can see, this app can absolutely revolutionize parenting and the young demographic. It has full access to the mobile device and is able to have restrictions set by the parents. So, please consider my proposal and if you accept, I will be feeling much better leaving this app in your hands.

Research two World Views on What Happens to the Soul After Death
What happens to the soul after death? This question has been asked throughout the history of the human race. There are many opinions as to what happens after death. I want to show you some of the many speculations as to what happens to your soul after death. My goal is to see whether there is a common theme to all this and if we can draw one simple solution.
Let's look at what the afterlife is like to cultures. The concept of Death is a part of many legends and myths all over the world. Greece, Rome, Egypt, Norse, Aztec, etc. The point is that Death plays a huge role in culture. The Greeks believe that after death, the soul of the person was to wait to board a ferry across the Underworld river, The Styx. After getting to the other side of the river, the soul was to be judged based on their actions when they were alive. Souls that had done terrible deeds and great sins, they were sent to Tartarus to suffer eternally. Souls that had done nothing or were indifferent were sent to the fields of Asphodel which was for the souls who were ordinary. The souls that had done good deeds and righteousness were sent to Elysium, a paradise which bears similarities to Heaven.

Are there words in our language that are overused? What are they? Why are they overused?
Yes: Yes, there are words in our language that are overused. Words such as "like" while originally being used for comparison are now used for interjections for conversation. According to grammarcheck.net, the English language has quite a few words that are overused. Words such as "literally" are used in figurative context. The language is turning itself upside down. The word "honestly" is used to confirm if people did or didn't see or do something. These words are overused because most of them have become interjections to continue to talk about something. The word "like" is a wonderful example.
No: No, the words in our language are not overused because they are used at the right moments. When you have a pause in the middle of a conversation, you replace that pause with a "like" so as to keep the conversation moving. Words such as "the," and "are," are vital in sentences. If you don't use the or are, you would have sentences like this,
"We__ going out to walk ___ the dog."
That sounds like an incomplete sentence to me. Words such as "like" are used to compare objects or people or emotions. These so called "overused words" are actually vital to sentences.
From interviewing people, I can draw the conclusion that the majority believe that there are words in our language that are overused. Their reasons were different. One was that there were certain times when a word is used too much and won't be used after. Such as how in the 80s, people were saying "rad" or "wicked". Another response was that they thought that there are lots of words that are overused. For example, the words "like" and "yeah" specifically because they are improper and don't belong in everyday conversation.
My opinion: I believe that our language is full of overused words. When I have a conversation, I will most likely use the words "like" and "literally" too often. This is because my brain subconsciously chooses these words to fill in those few second gaps in our conversation in order to make our statement a full one. I will hear some people say the word "like" at least 20 times at the most. This leads me to believe that the reason behind this is that these words have become speaking habits. We've used the words "like" and "literally" so much that it has become something that we must say in every conversation

The Virtue of Motherhood review
I read "The Virtue of Motherhood" by Teresa Botts. All in all it was a really good piece of writing. I love how the viewpoint is in first person and Teresa is able to describe her mother with sensory details and a little bit of dialouge. She, like many authors leave you with a cliffhanger on the end and it feels unfinished. The amount of visualization that Teresa included is what made this story so effective.
I personally think that she was able to show us the readers what the themes of love and parenthood was to the parent and what it was like for the child to have a parent. It shows the connection between the two as something incredible and you can see how close the child and mother are to each other. This made me remember some of the best times I had with my mother and I was able to feel a connection with the girl in this story. I could empathize with her and see how she felt about her mom as an individual who would never give up on her and would always be with her until the very end. I love the theme of parenthood and how even though it has moments where it is tough to do, the reward is being able to see your children grow up into successful people and being able to give them constant love and support and to hear that "I love you mom/dad" coming from them. It really makes me feel as if my parents are next to me, helping me out even though they are at work or at home. I also love how the child has to be responsible to help out her mother quit her smoking habit.

At no time did I agree to this
"Ok," my friend said to me, "If you can make it to the top of the rope without slipping, I will give you 20 dollars."
"Seems easy enough," I said. I started to climb the tall rope that was in the gym. After getting up to a quarter of it my hands started to burn. I was panting and I just wanted this torment to end. I felt my grip loosening, but then a thought came into my head, 'No! You must not give up! Not now!' I felt my resolve strengthening and my head cleared. I was filled with energy. I started to climb my mind focused on a repeated pattern. Hand, feet, hoist, hand, feet, hoist. I was unstoppable. I got up to a third of the way when I looked down. Then, my focus broke, my muscles strained. I was determined though and I climbed and climbed. I reached the top and then safely repelled down.
"That will be 20 dollars," I tell my friend.
"I don't remember shaking your hand to make it official," he said to me.
I walked away tired and frustrated. I must have used my entire body to its limit as I collapsed in exhaustion.
I guess I should tell you I climbed a 50 foot rope all for the sake of nothing. At least it felt like it was 50 feet. How ironic would it be if I told you I only had climbed 5 feet. Looking back, I should have shaken his hand to make it official.

Has Profanity become so common that it has lost its shock value?
Yes: It has become so common that saying profanity is usually expected and doesn't really shock people anymore. I have cussed a few times with some friends and they are not shocked by it at all. This tells me that people are not as surprised by cussing as they were back then.
No: It still holds power. I will slip up sometimes and say a swear while in front of my mom or dad and they will be on me like white on rice. Sometimes when I cuss in front of friends, some of them will flinch or say watch it. It holds still considerable power. In fact, cussing seems to be looked down upon in schools.
My opinion: Yes, I think cussing does not hold much power as it did way back then. Cussing has become the new groovy of the 21st century. It is so common, that everywhere I go, I will hear at least 1 curse. It is so common it is not even shocking anymore. Here on earth cussing seems to be very common and culture has adapted to it. Songs, writing, even games all have at least one bad word. There seems to be a lot of cursing going around and it needs to stop. I understand cursing if you are in pain such as if you broke a bone, it happened to me, but cursing when there is no need is just plain rude.
I have heard mixed opinions on this topic. All of them have different foundations for their opinion. Our generation has lost its shock value when it comes to cussing. It depends on age group, environment, where you are, and what words you use. It has always depended on the type of person. All of these have same view of no, but different ways of why.

Romeo and Juliet R + J Baz Luhrman edition
I honestly was ... surprised by this edition of Romeo and Juliet. Guns replace swords and the classic Verona is replaced by a modern coastal city. This movie used all of the character lines from the play and quite shocked me. I was actually confused. I didn't like this edition because I thought that it mocked the incredible love story and turned it into a horrible comedy. I was so disgusted it was horrible. Romeo was an awkward teen, Mercurtio was just different, Tybalt became an edgy person. Just, the characters were bad. Only of the only good things in this movie was that Leonardo Di Caprio was in it. I am just not a fan of this at all.

I am from the place where I can feel harmony,
I am from the place where I can smell pine trees and flowers,
I am from the city of Hope and prosperity,
I am from Mason, Ohio, the city of beauty and full of life and joy.

Should Students be Able to Grade Teachers
Should Students be Able to Grade their Teachers?
Yes: Yes, I believe students should be able to grade teachers because it allows both the student and the teacher to learn and grow and adapt. The teacher recieves feedback from the student, and the student as a result, gains respect for the teacher for taking time to incorporate new ways of learning. Just like teachers, students can also spot areas of improvement, such as advising teacher to be more specific when teaching or giving students more time to write down notes. This allows the teacher to adjust their teaching method accordingly and allows students to improve and get better.
No: No, I believe students should not be able to grade teachers. This is because some students might end up only criticizing the teacher out of spite or because they just don't like them. Teachers as a result can have their feelings hurt and feel like they didn't help the student succeed academically. This as a result makes the teacher seem like a bad teacher and it runs the risk of the teacher getting fired for something they didn't do. All because one student hated the teacher.
My view: I believe students should not be able to grade teachers. That being said, I believe students should be able to talk about what they learned in class overall. This allows people to think about how the teacher in general is helping the student without the student being outright spiteful and trying to get the teacher fired. If a student were to directly grade a teacher, they could have horrible motives and try to get an amazing teacher fired just because the student wasn't a good student.

Write a Love Letter Poem to your Favorite Food
This is for a Literature class.
My sweet love,
I think about you almost all the time,
the taste of your noodles is something I can't get out of my head,
Your sauce makes you look so beautiful,
your noodles arranged in a graceful position,
your scent of Tomatoes sends me flying,
the way you look when Parmesan cheese is sprinkled,
It makes you look irresistable,
You steam when you come out of the strainer,
Your taste is a blend between bread and tomatoe,
Your ability to go with many meals astounds me,
Your flavor is energizing,
giving me the power to do anything,
You always make me go for seconds,
so that I can see you again.
You spaghetti,
complete me

When do you become an adult?
You become an adult when you turn 18 chronological earth years old. When you turn 18 you go to college and you move out of your house. You learn to take care of yourself (Such as those annoying taxes) and learn financial management. You get the right to vote and are responsible for following the law and paying for fines. When you turn 18 parents learn to respect your decisions and you have the burden of being on your own.
Some people become an adult when you reach a certain level of maturity. Maturity comes with age, so if a 16 year old can act like an adult should act and can take care of all the responsibilities an adult takes care of, then they are an adult. To be an adult you need to act like one. That means that you don't just waste your money on meaningless objects, you budget and plan. Instead of buying video games, you spend money on groceries and taxes and making sure that you can get a house and manage a family.
My opinion is that to be an adult you need to turn 18 years old. By this point, you have graduated high school, or not, and you know what your plan is for your life in the future. You take a look at the problems, you solve the math. "How should I save for tuition?" "How much groceries should I buy with a certain amount of money?" Your free-time doesn't happen when you get back to your dorm after doing classes anymore, your free-time is when you get your work done and you have whatever spare time left over. You don't have the time to procrastinate or play games or whatever. You have a budget and a plan, you have a job and you can preform it well.

Bittersweet Poem
Sunset
Me and her sit on the cliff edge,
as we watch the sun go down,
Our hands entwined and our smiles high,
as we watch the night spread,
She looks at me and I look at her,
and rays of light are covered by a shroud,
We lean closer just me and her,
when finally the night takes over,
She stands up with tears in her eyes,
and leaves me with only distraught,
as I lie down here with darkness over head,
Thinking only about her,
I remember the way her face looked,
and the smell of vanilla made me soar,
But just like many love stories,
I have lost my beautiful Lenore,
My heart aches and eventually breaks,
and darkness overtakes me,
But then I feel an arm draw me in,
and I realize it's my family,
My sister hugs me her face full of tears,
and tells me how she feels sorrow for me,
and I hug her back as we watch the dark,
flee in the face of the light,
Our hands entwined and our smiles high,
as we watch the night spread,
She looks at me and I look at her,
and rays of light are covered by a shroud,
We lean closer just me and her,
when finally the night takes over,
She stands up with tears in her eyes,

Hands 2
My hands have changed over the year,
full of experience, memory, and weariness,
My hands are full of life,
Veins and nerves intertwined and full of might,
My hands have bones that have grown so far,
the distal, intermediate, proximal phalanges, as well as the metacarpals and carpals,
My hands have grown stronger over the year,
muscles strengthen and nerves responding faster than ever,
My hands tell my life story,
every touch and interaction,
My hands hold many memories,
the senses and moments of interacting with others,
My hands are very unique,
there are no others like them,
My hands are full of calluses and scars,
each tells how much I've worked hard,
My hands are some of the most important parts of my body,
without my hands, I could not reach the water or food need to survive,
My hands are very important to me,
They remind of who I am and how to stay myself and love me.

What does love feel like
A very unique question that some people ask about is what does love feel like. I will show you what love feels like through poetry.
Love is what makes life incredible,
It slows time and makes the most unbearable moments bearable,
Love is what drives our will,
It helps us out and lets us live a single moment standing still,
Love is what causes that warm and fuzzy feeling in yourself,
It keeps people sane and gives them someone to talk about,
Love is what grants people an enourmous will,
Their bright light breaks through the darkness of despair,
Love is what drives many emotions,
be it jealousy, anger, happiness, or sadness,
Love can be unforgiving and cruel at times,
heartbreak and divorce can cause a lot of pain at times,
Love is sometimes a curse to some,
Reminded of broken hearts opens wounds and scars,
Love is an incredible thing,
It can be shared with many people,
It binds two people together and allows them to share happiness and sadness, emotions of variety, I am so happy that I have people to love and who love me.

Should Schools Eliminate Homework?
Yes:
Yes, schools should eliminate homework because it causes many negative health effects to students if the homework is too much for said student to handle. The negative effects most commonly found are sleep deprivation, headaches, exhaustion, loss of weight, burnout and so much more. Homework becomes a primary stress on a student and can cause them mental health issues as well as physical ones. Homework also prevents students from having a healthy social life as it can clog up a student's time.
No: No homework should not be eliminated from schools because it helps students learn the concepts of the subjects that they are learning. This causes them to retain information better and be ready for when tests come around. Homework also improves a students ability to get tasks done so when they have a real job, they know how to do their work efficiently. Homework also helps students be mindful of time management and how they should spend their time.
My opinion: I believe that schools should eliminate homework, not because of how easier it would be on me, (although I guess that IS a plus) but because the negatives outweigh the positives. That being said, I do believe that students need someway to retain information that they learn at school so that it is stuck in their head. This will help them be prepared for tests and other big challenges. Homework however is not the way to do it. The cost of a social life and personal health are far too much for homework to be an okay way for students to learn.

What do I want to achieve next year
I dedicate this poem to my family and friends, Thank you all for being there for me when I needed it most!
What I want to Achieve Next Year and Beyond
What do I want to achieve next year? Well the list is pretty long.
I want to achieve getting good grades next year,
I want to achieve getting my eagle rank in boy scouts next year,
I want to achieve actually getting an A in math next year,
I want to achieve getting views from around the world on my blogs,
I want to achieve my goals and dreams,
no matter how impossible it might seem
I want to achieve getting my drivers license next year,
I want to achieve just being me,
no can can stop me or prevent me,
I want to achieve many things in my life,
but to do them all in a year would take too much of my time,
I have goals and dreams of my own,
But sometimes it feels that I may never reach those before growing old,
Life is something that I cherish and enjoy while it lasts,
But I wonder if I will be typing on my deathbed telling you how much you all will be missed.
This is a poem for those few friends and peers of mine,
You will be remembered even when I run out of time.
A special thanks to everyone who has helped me grow and become the person who I am today,
Thanks to you all I will be able to look back on this when I grow weary with age in the far away future, and remember the best times of my life and cherish those memories before my life is all over.

Write a Tiny Story Where the Main Character Goes on a Life-changing "Trip"
The Big "Trip"
I was running in the campsite where my boy scout troop was camping in when I tripped on a rope. Before I knew it I was on the ground screaming in pain with my arm feeling like it was on fire. After I tripped, my arm hurt every time I tried to move it. My fellow campers said that I was being over dramatic, but my friend, was the only one (besides my dad of course,) who thought that I was really hurt. In order to stop my self from screaming in pain every time I moved my arm, I decided to not use my arm and let it lie on the side of my body, limp.
After the camp out, me and my mom went to a place to get my arm checked out. It turns out I had fractured the growth plate in my elbow forcing me to wear a cast for 3 weeks. As I recovered I promised myself to be careful around both campsites and ropes. I also told myself that if I had a feeling that an injury was serious to go to someone I trust or someone who is most qualified to address an injury. I also made sure to brush up on some more first aid so I wouldn't make the same mistakes my fellow campers made.
Now that my arm is healed, I am more cautious than I was before and I always make sure I am being safe and responsible. I don't do activities or dares or anything that has a high possibility of me seriously injuring myself unless I am confident that I can do it. I know not to go running at night in a campsite full of stakes and ropes. I had a "Life-changing trip".

Schools in the U.S. Should Go for 11 Months a Year Instead of 9 to Better Educate Students
Yes, because by keeping schools up for longer periods of time, students are more likely to learn more subjects and topics due to the extra time for classes. You can possibly even have more students skip a grade because they are learning so much in this period of time. This also keeps up test scores for the U.S. if we decide to go through with this because students are spending more time studying.
No, because students will have 1 month of summer vacation. After a long school year, students need time to relax and recharge their batteries and regain their happy personalities. I personally enjoy using some of my summer time by meditating in my room or outside. I do this during the first week of summer vacation as it helps me calm myself down internally and find peace. Lots of students need our 3 month summer vacation to relax and spend time with family.
I think that we should not have school for 11 months because it takes away valuable family time and time spent with friends and recovering from school. We need this time to help regain our energy. This is vital because a single month off school is like having another winter break. It's not long enough for students to de stress and relax without having to worry about tests every five minutes.

Are Vaccines Good for Children
Yes, because vaccines help children resist diseases and illnesses by injecting a syringe into the bloodstream and immune system of the child in question. The anti-bodies are sort of a powerful security team inside your body, repelling away bacteria, viruses, and unknown substances in your body. A vaccine injects a killed or weakened form of a virus or bacteria and causes your body to build up antibodies to repel future illnesses without causing any negative effects or illness to the patient in question. Their body is generating antibodies natur
No, vaccines are not good for children because vaccinations can cause a life-threatening allergic reaction to one in a million children. Vaccinations can cause irritation and a slight fever. This also is not safe for someone who has a weakened immune system. Vaccines can also interfere with a person's religion.
My side: I think vaccines are good for children because it helps protect them against illnesses and help out with the children' s future in mind.

Compare and Contrast the Novel and The Film of To Kill a Mocking Bird
Both the film and book of To Kill a Mocking Bird were so full of emotion and amazement. There are some differences and similarities between the two though.
The Differences between the film version and the novel vary. One of the most noticeable differences between the two is that the film left out some segments that were in the book. One of the segments that they left out was how Scout got in trouble at school with Ms. Caroline. We never got to see what school was like for Scout and that is one of the major settings in the beginning of the book. Another major difference is when Calpurnia enters the courtroom and tells Atticus that the kids didn't arrive at home, leading Atticus to find out that they were watching the trial the entire time.
Another difference is that the film doesn't always tell the story from Scouts point of view when the book does.
The Similarities between the film and the novel are more than the differences. One of the major similarities is how each of the characters interact with each other is almost identical to how they treat one another in the book.

Write a short short story or narrative poem with racism as the theme
Everyone is a human,
no matter what we look like,
Everyone is human,
no matter what we act like,
Everyone is human,
no matter what we talk like,
everyone is human,
no matter what our skin looks like,
Everyone is human,
No matter who we are like,
Everyone is human,
no matter what our community is like,
We all are part of the human race,
Skin color and mannerisms don't determine if you are human or not. We all are the same flesh and blood and bone. We all talk, we all walk, we all have eyes and ears and a mouth, we all have hands and arms and feet and legs. We are all human. No matter what we all make up the human race.
no matter what we look like,
Everyone is human,
no matter what we act like,
Everyone is human,

Note to Jem
Jem,
If I had to describe to you what it is like to be a teen in 2018 compared to the 1930's I would have to say it is ... amazing. The school system is way better and deals with students in a more positive way. People are treated equally and the teachers don't punish students like they did back then. No longer is there any wrist slapping with a ruler or humiliation. Teachers try to help students by figuring out the cause of the problem and work with the student to help rectify it. As a teen you have way more of a social life and can chat with your friends without having to take trips to meet them through this process called texting. It involves a mobile phone that you can carry around in your pocket and when you want to talk to someone, you type in the words. You can also call them still.
School is a lot more fun and exciting. You learn all kinds of things here. Sure the workload is still hard, but it is easy to manage. Money and finance is also back to normal. The Great Depression is gone and the economy has actually gotten better. Money and jobs are easy to come by and most families are not poor.

Defend your side; Guns should be banned in the U.S. except for official purposes
This is my own opinion. I respect other people's opinions. However, if I see one comment that offends me or another person it is being blocked and the person who commented reported. I don't care if you are democrat or republican. You have no right to say hateful things. I respect political views. I will not tolerate hate comments. Thank you for your time.
No, I think guns should not be banned in the U.S. because many people who own guns have enough moral integrity to not go around shooting people. My grandma owns a gun and she has it to defend herself in case some one tries to kill or attack her. She doesn't carry it everywhere but she still has it. We can't just remove our second amendment rights. We have the right to bear firearms. We can however have a stricter policy on which guns are banned and which guns are not banned. We need to set limits on who can and can't own guns. Banning an entire way of defending ourselves is not going to stop criminals from illegally obtaining firearms. There are people in this world who will do anything for money.
If we ban the entire U.S. population from owning guns, then whats the point of defending ourselves from threats like a potential gunman.

General thoughts on current state of the amount of shootings in schools in the U.S
Before I start, I will say that what has happened in Florida and in countless other schools is horrific and a disgusting waste of human life and I will not joke or do anything that sounds like a mockery about this. There is no political stance in this. I am merely talking about my thoughts on this issue.
The idea that a student would have such hate in their heart or have such a wrong mentality to bring a firearm into a school and open fire on innocent students and teachers shocks me. Despite being empathetic, I can only imagine what the families of the victims of the countless shootings in schools must be feeling. This is something that no one should treat as a joke or as some prank. People died. Students and teachers have died. Families have been filled with sorrow and despair. Kids have been traumatized. I am not trying to scare you, I am telling you the truth and the reality of countless souls.
I wonder what makes someone do something like this. Why would you bring a gun to a school full of people who did nothing to you and open fire on them. The idea is foreign and scary to me.
The way to fix this is to help the people who have this uncontrollable rage.

Describe a Place You Want to Visit in the Future and Why
I have always been wondering what it is like to visit Naples, Italy. The story behind why I've always wanted to visit this place is pretty surprising.
When I was 9 or 10, I was looking at famous places in the world and I came across the city of Pompeii. I was fascinated by the possibility of being able to visit one the most famous places in history. The story behind this city goes that it was once a Roman city on the side of the volcano of Mt. Vesuvius. On an early February morning in AD 79, the ground started to rumble and the volcano spewed white smoke. People assumed that it was clouds, but soon they found out their error. Later that night the volcano erupted, spewing ash and poisonous smoke. The town was buried and most of the citizens died of the toxic smog. The village was buried for centuries. Then in 1748 a surveying engineer discovered the Herculaneum which was close to Pompeii. Realizing what they found, excavators were sent to discover the remains of the village. They found the city. There were pockets of air where people and animals died so they poured plaster and extracted the molds to find the casts of the forms of people. The city was uncovered completely and is now a national landmark. Vesuvius is now an inactive volcano, but it is still an amazing piece of history.
This is the reason I wanted to visit Naples. Pompeii is part of Naples and getting the opportunity to see it in person would be incredible. I am thinking of saving the money to go to Italy and being able to achieve a dream of mine. I can't wait to see this amazing city!

A Realization that Changed My Life and Understanding of Myself
A Realization About Myself
It's strange that you wake up one morning and your entire perspective of the world is changed. I woke from my bed feeling as if my inner kid in me died. I was a teenager and I knew I had responsibilities. There was no time for games. You look at those around you and you recognize the ones that are irresponsible and the ones that are immature.
Life is tough. You got to know how to take advantage of life and make the most of it. You have no time for games and babying. You either change or get left behind. That was the day I matured and became more serious in life. I still have the same personality, but I'm a new man. I know how to act and think about my choice of words before I say them. It's simple really. All it took was a push to act more mature and be more serious.
If you act immature in high school, people are not going to respect you. You will have such a hard time making friends until you mature and wake up to the fact that acting childish makes you seem less serious and driven. You need to realize that life calls on the people who are making wise and rational choices and not taking stuff for granted. Welcome to maturing, its when you wake up and get serious about life.

Reflect on a Time When You Questioned or Challenged a Belief or Idea. What Prompted your Thinking? What was the Outcome
Just for the record, this is my own opinion. You have no right to send me hateful comments of any kind. I will not allow this. If I see any horrible comments directed towards me or another person, the accuser will be blocked and reported. I don't care who you are or what beliefs you have, you have 0 right to spout hateful words. This is your only warning. I MEAN IT. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Girls Joining Boy Scouts
When I heard that people were trying to allow girls to be part of Boy Scouts, I was very confused about the entire thing. I thought to myself "Why don't the Girl Scouts just edit their rules and the way they do things instead of disrupting an organization focused on BOY Scouts.
I got mad at the idea that someone thought that it was okay for a girl to be part of an organization solely focused on boys. It made me feel that this is going to turn Boy Scouts into just Scouts and you would have to deal with so many issues such as stupid boys, the possibility of girls ruining boy scouts, having to actually bend rules for the girls and so on.
The outcome of this was my belief that Girls should stay in Girl Scouts. If you want more money and funding to do stuff, make a change. If you don't like the way your scouting program does things. Change it. No one is going to wave a magic wand and be all "your program is good now!" If you want to join Boy Scouts because it is more fun, then make a change to your girl scout program. We raise money to go on trips, no one does it for us. We earn it. Life is not all sunshine and daisies. You need persistence, patience, and action. We do these fun activities because we earn them. No one gives the camp outs to us. We spend weeks organizing and planning these trips! You need to wake up to the fact that whining about not going on trips gets you nowhere. Take action make it happen. Dry your tears and start making a change.

Describing myself for a third time
Hey guys! Nick again!
For those of you who know me from my first blog welcome back! For those who it's their first time here, Welcome to my second blog! I can spend hours on end talking about these things. I am an empathetic person with a happy personality and I have a great knack for poetry. I can write other subjects as well, but poetry is by far my favorite. If you guys have any suggestions for a topic or ways to improve my writing, just comment on my works. I will be paying attention to your guy's comments! I also have a great sense
